Hindi for Indian children in the UK
British-Indian families come from every part of India, and many use Hindi as the shared family language even when the grandparents speak Gujarati, Punjabi or Marathi at home. Hindi is rarely taught in UK schools, so children pick up films and songs but not the script. A dedicated teacher gives them the reading and writing that weekend exposure alone doesn't.

Children in the UK can prepare for the Dakshin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha exams with our certified trainer, live online. The certificates give a clear ladder from Parichaya upwards, so progress is visible to the whole family.

We match for level, language and your time zone, and the same teacher stays with your child every week. If it isn't a fit, we change the teacher for free.

Hindi classes in the UK: common questions
My child understands Hindi from films but can't read it. Where do we start?
With the Swar and Vyanjan and Matras, with handwriting practice. Children who already understand spoken Hindi move quickly once they can sound out the letters.
Do you teach Hindi to children from Gujarati or Punjabi homes?
Yes. Classes are taught in English alongside Hindi, so children can start with no Hindi at home.
Can my child take Prachar Sabha exams from the UK?
Our coaching for all nine levels is live online. Exam arrangements are made by the Sabha; many families sit the exam during a visit to India. Check with the Sabha for current options outside India.
What times can my child take Hindi classes from the UK?
The UK is 4.5 hours behind India in summer (BST) and 5.5 hours behind in winter (GMT). Saturday mornings work well: 10 am in London is 2:30 pm in India in summer (3:30 pm in winter). Weekday after-school times in the UK fall late in the Indian evening, so tell us your options and we'll check which teachers are free. The time table on this page works it out for your time zone.
How much do Hindi classes cost?
Fees depend on the subject, your child's level and whether you choose one-on-one or a small batch, so we share the exact fee on WhatsApp once we know what your child needs. Every family can take a free 30-minute demo class first, with no obligation to join.
