Hindi is the most widely spoken Indian language in the United States, yet most children hear it only at home. Hindi classes in the USA: common questions
My child was born in the US and only speaks English. Can they learn Hindi?
Yes. Classes are taught in English and start from Swar, Vyanjan and Matras, so children can begin with no Hindi at all and build up to reading and conversation.
Can my child take Dakshin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha exams from the US?
Our coaching for all nine Prachar Sabha levels is live online, so children in the US can prepare with a certified trainer. Check with the Sabha for exam arrangements outside India.
Will Hindi help with the Seal of Biliteracy?
Strong reading and writing in Hindi can help students who later pursue their state's Seal of Biliteracy. Check your school district's approved assessments for Hindi.
What times can my child take Hindi classes from the US?
Weekday early mornings and Saturday mornings work best. For example, 7 am in New York is 4:30 pm in India in summer, and 8 am on Saturday in California is 8:30 pm in India in summer. The time table on this page works it out for your time zone.
